A good toolkit to help you support speech and language in the classroom needs to contain:
- Assessments – for targeting help where it is needed, because language difficulties are not always easy to spot by observation alone
- Training – for all staff, preferably unlimited, training extra members of staff shouldn’t cost you more
- Resources and pre-planned interventions – materials and activities to help you put your training to use
- Support – from a team of specialist speech and language therapists, available for questions every school day
