Curriculum and Assessment Review
Speech & Language Link welcome the statement in the interim Curriculum and Assessment Review that it will “…explore ways of ensuring the assessment system is properly inclusive of all students, particularly those with SEND“. However, in order to achieve this goal the fundamentals of speech, language and communication and their role in the accessibility of both the curriculum and its assessment, need to be taken seriously. We look forward to engaging with Government and the Review Panel to ensure that speech, language and communication skills are considered integral to the proposed changes, so creating the best outcomes for all pupils.
