What is The Link Live?
The Link Live is an online speech and language conference for schools, offering webinars presented by education specialist, hosted by speech and language therapists.
The fantastic line-up of presentations kicked off with a keynote from Professor Courtenay Norbury on the impact of development language disorder (DLD) on education and life outcomes. Mushy Asghar from ‘Channel 4’s Educating Yorkshire’ talked about his life-long stammer and how the incredible support from his teacher enabled him to become the public speaker he is today. A great motivator for school staff indeed. We were also joined by OT, Kim Griffin; SaLT, Sidonie Delaney; and Georgina Durrant, former SENCo, author and founder of SEN Resource Blog, who all provided practical ideas and tips for delegates to take back to the classroom. The conversation between the delegates in the live chat buzzed throughout the day with question.
The Link Live has now been transformed into The Link Live Sessions. We will now be bringing you 6 fantastic twilight sessions over the academic year. Every term we will be hosting one primary and one secondary Link Live Session.
The sessions will be aimed at you the SENCos, Teachers and TAs and will provide inspirational content to help support speech, language and communication needs within your school. There is still time to sign up!
