Little Link – the speech and language package for nurseries

Speech & Language Link has an exciting new package for nurseries – Little Link, available from October. Designed by speech and language therapists, Little Link helps Early Years providers to support the best possible speech, language and communication development for preschool children.

Engage and idenitfy

The engaging, story-based screening tool takes around 10 minutes to complete and delivers instant feedback, allowing your staff to identify children who need a little more support with their language development and to help you make the best use of your local specialist services where they are really needed.

Activity based interventions

Based on six unique stories, our interventions introduce target language skills, concepts and vocabulary in a familiar and enjoyable format. Each book comes complete with a series of planned play-based activities to practise and consolidate a range of important language skills. Sessions are designed to take place throughout the whole setting, rather than a small group format, which means they don’t require any additional staff or space, and every child benefits. And we mean every child!

 

Inclusivity is key

Our “built in, not bolt on” method is based on the principle of inclusivity and our whole school approach. This encourages every child to participate including those with additional needs and children who are multilingual or learning English as an Additional Language.

The sessions are perfect for settings with a child-led ethos and provide structured opportunities to focus on improving the quality of adult-child interactions, which has a huge impact on language outcomes. In this way every session supports early pre-literacy skills so that children are school-ready when the time comes.
